Faleh Bin Nasser Al Thani

Al Thani began his tenure as Minister of Environment and Climate Change in October 2021. As minister, he was tasked with implementing Qatar’s national plan for climate change. In July 2023, Al Thani’s ministry signed a deal with the Mitsubishi Research Institute to work on a consultancy project regarding Qatar’s carbon credit plan. The aim is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 25% by 2030. Al Thani’s ministry launched the “Environmental Pioneers” initiative in April 2023 to engage society in confronting climate change challenges and protect Qatar’s environment and biodiversity.
